Red light therapy is a treatment that involves exposing the skin or eyes to low-level red or near-infrared light. Light energy travels deep into your body's tissues where it is absorbed and used. Light stimulates the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), a chemical involved in the body's energy production. Research suggests that red light therapy may have many potential health benefits, including reducing inflammation, improving wound healing, and enhancing skin health.

Some evidence suggests that red light therapy may also be effective in treating depression. For example, studies have found that red light therapy can improve mood and reduce symptoms of depression in people with SAD (seasonal affective disorder), a type of depression that occurs during the winter months when there is less natural light. Other research has suggested that red light therapy may be beneficial for people with non-seasonal depression as well. SOURCE

Red light therapy is administered using a LED laser device that emits red or near-infrared light, which can be applied directly to the forehead. Treatment sessions typically last for 5-10 minutes.

The light therapy experts at Advantage Therapy Solutions can determine the optimal dosage and duration of treatment to help you reach your goals. It is a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional to help you determine if this treatment is appropriate for you and develop a tailored plan. It is important to remember that red light therapy is not a replacement for standard treatments for depression, such as medication and therapy, and should be used in conjunction with these treatments as recommended by a healthcare professional.

Laser therapy does two things really well: reduce inflammation and increase circulation. This means it is an excellent modality to use for injury recovery. On average, patients using traditional treatments plus phototherapy lasers heal twice as fast as those using traditional treatments alone.
